The review
Amo Vitiello and Greta Falcone!
I believe I speak for everyone when I say: THIS BOOK GAVE WHAT NEEDED TO BE GIVEN! I discovered Cora Reilly last year summer, and after reading every single book she’s written in the span of one month, this is the book I have been patiently waiting for. For 15 very long months. From the short preview we received before the release, I knew this book was going to surpass all my expectations. And it did! It gave me that familiar spark i’ve longed for since Nino and Kiara (my babies, love them to much ). It had all the requirements to make a great mafia book- unhinged characters, violence (lots of it), and romance. Amo and Greta were a perfect match, a couple that anyone can easily to become obsessed with. I loved Amo’s character, which is surprising because after by sin I rise, I found him a bit annoying and childish. But I think his character has grown, and this book surely shows that. Greta, oh she’s such a sweet and delicate soul! A true Falcone that has a deep love for her whole family. To see them both equally fall for each right away, yet have to carry the torch for their family was very stressful and painful to read. Thankfully, it all worked out at the end!
As for the show stealers, Nevio Falcone! The fact that some aren’t pleased with his character baffles me because he’s a Falcone. A future capo. Remo’s son! His character was shaped perfectly and adds to this new generation, especially since their fathers [Dante, Luca, Remo] are reducing their violent acts because they have more to lose. I have very high hopes for Nevio, and can’t wait to read more about him and Aurora. Another character I thoroughly enjoyed is Valerio, I have never laughed out loud so much from a character. I look forward to reading about him, and I suspect his love story will be very different from the others.
Who should read this book: if you’re fan of mafia romances with morally grey characters and a pair of star crossed lovers, this book is for you!
Who shouldn’t read this book: If you don’t like books with dark themes, skip this one!!
Overall, an amazing 5 star read this I highly recommend!! However, I would suggest you read the born in blood series and Camorra chronicles for a full understanding, or at least read twisted pride and twisted bonds beforehand!
